中世ヨーロッパ最大の賢女と言われるドイツの聖ヒルデガルトは、ライン・ヘッセン地方に貴族の娘として生まれ、後にベネディクト会の修道女、修道院長となりました。女性であるがゆえに正統的な学問は身に着けませんでしたが、幼児から神の啓示の幻視体験を持ち、「汝の見るもの,汝の聴くものを語れ」という啓示にしたがって、後に『道を知れ(スキヴィアス)』を初めとする神秘神学3部作の書物を著し、教皇や皇帝にも認められて預言者とし���知られるようになります。人生の後半はビンゲンの町の郊外にルーぺルツベルク修道院を開いて院長となり、神学,宇宙論,博物学,霊性,医学,薬草学、音楽などの広い範囲にわたる書物を残しました。

It consists of 7 songs, 5 Himnus (hymns), and 1 Kyrie. And as a liturgy of the monastery, he sang a song of God's praise to become one with the heavenly world. In addition, he wrote the only religious musical drama "Ordo Virtutum (drama of the powers of God)", which can be said to be the forerunner of later oratorios and operas. And all of these songs were created as the Word of God based on visions and revelations, saying that they were merely tools of God, and are unique religious creations.

It was an attempt to connect by things and return to the figure of the person who should be under God.
